Description

A student reclining on a bed in the South Mountain dorms, or Red Bricks, reading a book. A phone and various items sit on the floor with a pair of shoes sitting in the center of the room, while many small plants and a sewing machine sit on the windowsill. A small bookshelf and other areas are covered with a tea set, books, and decorations including Big Bird from Sesame Street, drawings and posters hanging on the walls, including a poster of Charles Schulz' Snoopy thinking 'A kiss on the cheek does much to toward turning aside anger', a nail board with jewelry and necklaces, and pictures of a group of people and individuals as well as locations hanging alongside small stuffed animals.

Based on the January 27, 1983 Cal Poly Report, the computer numerical controlled milling machine pictured was donated by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Education Foundation via an educational grant. A plaque on the machine describes this information, as well. Three people stand around the machine, discussing a part. Description

The students are sewing with a pattern and pincushion. A piece of tape, dividing the room in half, extends on the floor and up the wall, where hanging posters and pictures fill the corkboard including a kitten hanging off a tree limb with the phrase 'Hang On Baby, Friday's Coming,' other illegible posters and flyers, and one which says 'those of you who think you know everything (illegible)' near a shelf packed with books, boxes, and different objects. A travel case is sitting on the dresser while clothes for sewing are sitting at the base of the bed.
