Papers, 1835-1958 (bulk 1896-1945), contain architectural drawings and plans, office records, photographs, correspondence, project files, student work, family correspondence, and personal papers from the estate of California architect Julia Morgan, who practiced in San Francisco during the first half of the twentieth century. Description

A watercolor of Albrecht Dürer's House in Nuremberg, Germany painted by Julia Morgan. This is one of Julia Morgan's assignment watercolors from when she was a student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. On the back of the artwork, Morgan began a small pencil sketch.

This sketchbook has pasted-in drawings and artwork created by Julia Morgan while she was in Europe studying at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Most of the work is watercolor, pencil, pen and ink, and gouache on paper. The portfolio seems to be a commercially-made sketchbook, with a fabric cover and a pencil holder on the top, which Morgan pasted her drawings into.
