In a letter dated March 12, 1935, William Randolph Hearst was offered this staircase, and Hearst then forwarded the letter to Julia Morgan, asking 'Dear Miss Morgan: can we use this at Wyntoon?' The staircase, however, was not purchased for Wyntoon.

Photograph of a drawing of the "Fountain of Diana" by Charles Cassou. The sculptures were delivered to San Simeon between 1934 -1936, but never installed permanently at the North Entrance as indented. The sculptures now reside at the entrance to the Hollywood Hills Cemetery.
