Photograph with caption that reads: 'They say that time and tide wait for no man, bu on the Berkeley campus there is a special dispensation made in favor of young women. The largest of the three pools in the newly created Phoebe Apperson Hearst Memorial Gymnasium waits all day for young women students to plumb its inviting depths while the Campanile and its clocks wait to warn them of approaching classes. Hearst Gymnasium was completed in August, 1927, taking place of the one that burned in 1922.'
