A unbound portfolio that contains twelve colored illustrations of California wildflowers, reproduced by the three-color process and printed on fine quality white cardboard, each signed "Copyright by E.M.H.S. 1905." Plates accompanied by a booklet containing descriptions of each of the wild flowers represented, probably the work of the artist's husband, writer Charles Francis Saunders. The twelve reproductions in natural colors from water-color drawings are of the following flowers: California poppy -- Prickly phlox -- Brodiaea -- Cream cups -- Monkey flower -- Owl's clover -- Indian paint-brush -- Wild pansy -- Mariposa tulip -- Wild heliotrope -- Shooting star -- Scarlet bugler.
