I am a student, co-captain of the football team, student body preSident of Los Angeles State College, and co- chairman of Ceremonies of the Mercy Bowl Football Classic. I am send- ing this message to you as a fellow footballer. As you all know, last year the California State Polytechnic College at San Luis Obispo football team was almost completely wiped out by a terrible air tragedy. On Thanksgiving Day of this year, the Mercy Bowl Football Classic will be held in the Coliseum in memory of the victims and to help their families with their many financial problems. I have a very strong personal feeling about this game, and as a participant in football, feel that it is my place to try and assist and support this game in every way possible. My teammates here at Los Angeles State feel the same, too, and each has agreed to support this game by buying one ticket to the game. we are contacting all football teams throughout the nation to join the Mercy Bowl Team. What I am trying to do is to start a snowball rolling to get every football player of this country to buy one ticket at $3.00 each. To earn a place on our "Snowball" Mercy Bowl Team, we are requesting that your team purchase at least eleven tickets.
