California Polytechnic State University May 17, 2004 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Blake Bolton College Republicans Club (805) 782-9029 Cal Poly College Republicans Host ‘Support the Troops’ Rally Thursday SAN LUIS OBISPO – Cal Poly’s College Republicans club will host a “Support the Troops” rally Thursday, May 20, on Dexter Lawn from 11 a.m. to noon. The event will feature remarks by Floyd Brown, director of the Ronald Reagan Ranch, as well as local veterans, plus a barbecue and large “thank you” card available for signing. The card will be sent to U.S. troops in Iraq, said club member Blake Bolton. “With all the politicizing of the war and continuous negative press, soldiers overseas need to feel support and encouragement back at home. Our soldiers make great sacrifices for our safety and the freedom of others and deserve to be recognized.
