Skip to Content Cal Poly News Search Cal Poly News Go California Polytechnic State University Sept. 30, 2003 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: LISA WOSKE (805) 756-7110 Monty Python's Eric Idle Comes To SLO With His 'Greedy Bastard Tour' SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIFORNIA - In what he describes as "an evening of songs, skits and skirts," Eric Idle - one of the irreverent founders of Britain's nearly-legendary Monty Python comedy troupe - will be at the Christopher Cohan Center at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, with his "Greedy Bastard Tour." Cal Poly Arts presents the comic actor as part of their Center Stage Series. Vows Idle, "...As long as there is an innocent nickel to be made from the gullible Python-starved public I shall be out there, dressed in silly frocks singing filthy lyrics." A hand-picked crew of sketch artists will accompanying Idle, including John Du Prez, Nigel Spasm, the Bruces, Sir Dirk McQuickly of The Rutles, Peter Crabbe, Jennifer Julian, and some "mystery guests." The show will feature new material from Idle's latest "Rutland Isles" CD, as well as classic Python favorites. "And there will of course be lots of very rude sing-along opportunities. Dress strangely," advises the star. Tickets for the performance are $48 & $54 and may be purchased at the Performing Arts Ticket Office.
