Skip to Content Cal Poly News Search Cal Poly News Go California Polytechnic State University Contact: Robert Flores (805) 756-2169 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Cal Poly Hosts High School Agricultural Teachers Convention June 23-26 SAN LUIS OBISPO - Cal Poly's College of Agriculture will host the annual summer conference of the California Agricultural Teachers Association June 23-26. This is the 83rd year Cal Poly has hosted the gathering, which is expected to draw some 650 teachers from throughout California, said Cal Poly Agricultural Education Professor Robert Flores. "The majority of high school agriculture teachers in California are Cal Poly graduates, and we welcome them home each summer for the conference," Flores explained. The conference will open at 8:15 a.m. June 23 at the Performing Arts Center's Christopher Cohan Center. Alumni grads will attend a special conference lunch at noon. On June 24, the conference will begin with a ranch breakfast at Cal Poly's Gallo Vineyard, and participants will then move on to tour College of Agriculture departments and facilities. -30Note to editors: reporters and photographers interested in going along on the tour should contact Flores at (805) 756-2169 or rflores@calpoly.edu.
