Skip to Content Cal Poly News Search Cal Poly News Go California Polytechnic State University March 5, 2003 Contact: Teresa Hendrix (805) 756-7266 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Cal Poly Club Coordinating March 8 Peace March and Rally SAN LUIS OBISPO - The Cal Poly Progressive Student Alliance is coordinating a March 8 Passion for Peace march from campus to downtown, ending with a noon rally in Mitchell Park at Osos and Pismo streets. The program will consist of a sidewalk march followed by speeches and musical by local bands in Mitchell Park. The rally at Mitchell Park will focus on recognizing various Central Coast peace groups. There will be a "party convention"-style event with members of each group gathered under their own banner. The Cal Poly Progressive Student Alliance will begin activities at 11 a.m. at the Sequoia Hall lawn, where participants will make peace signs and banners. At 11:30 a.m., the Cal Poly group will march from Sequoia Hall to Mitchell Park to join the rally. The Cal Poly group will march route down Grand Avenue to Monterey Street.
