Skip to Content Cal Poly News Search Cal Poly News Go California Polytechnic State University Contact: Teresa Hendrix (805) 756-7266 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Cal Poly, County Join Forces To Offer Workshop on County's Future March 12 SAN LUIS OBISPO - Cal Poly students and local government and environmental officials will hold a public forum in the San Luis Obispo Veterans' Memorial Building March 12 to discuss "San Luis Obispo in 2025: A Vision for the Future." The event runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will begin with an hour of presentations showcasing various visions for the future of San Luis Obispo and the surrounding area, followed by an hour for questions and answers. The evening is being sponsored by the Cal Poly Political Science Honor Society in association with the university's Political Science Department. Scheduled speakers include Mike Ryan, chairman of the County Board of Supervisors; Bob Hill, representing the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County; Cal Poly Natural Resources Management Professor Tim O'Keefe, also a member of the Sierra Club; Patricia Wilmore of the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce; Atascadero City Councilman George Luna; community activist and New World Baroque Orchestra member Eric Greening; and attorney and former San Luis Obispo city planning commissioner and councilwoman Jan Marx.
