Skip to Content Cal Poly News Search Cal Poly News Go California Polytechnic State University Feb. 26, 2003 Contact: Margo Camilleri (805) 756-7136 mdcamill@calpoly.edu FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Cal Poly Continuing Education To Offer Workshop for Human Resource Professionals SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Cal Poly Continuing Education is offering an intensive two-day workshop for human resources professionals from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 21-22. Titled "A New Business Model for Human Resources," the workshop will focus on how human resources personnel can develop business relationships, including business partnerships with internal clients, and play a major role in an organization. Phil King, principal of King Consulting Group, will facilitate the workshop. His clients include Intel, National Semiconductor, Hewlett-Packard, Monterey County and the California Department of Motor Vehicles. King will be joined by Kevin Wheeler, president of Global Learning Resources, a company that targets human resources strategies to remain competitive. Participants will gain a greater understanding of "the business of business" and how to measure human resources' impact on the bottom line. They will also learn how to increase credibility with internal customers through solid proposals and fulfillment. The workshop will also include a session on future trends expected to have an impact on human resources and organizational survival. The fee is $175. Certificate enrollees and members of the Human Resources Association of the Central Coast (HRACC) receive a discount. The deadline to register is March 17.
