Skip to Content Cal Poly News Search Cal Poly News Go California Polytechnic State University Contact: Val Barboza (805) 756-5877 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Cal Poly Chapter of Golden Key International Honour Society Inducts New Members, Awards Scholarships SAN LUIS OBISPO - Cal Poly's chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society recently inducted almost 290 new student members at a ceremony on campus. In addition, a total $1,000 in scholarships were awarded to Jonathan Lott ($500), an architecture student from San Jose, and Karen Quetano ($500), a kinesiology student from Santa Clara. The scholarships are based on the students' academic achievements and involvement in community service. he Student Executive Committee of the society inducted five new honorary members in recognition of their service to the campus and community. The inductees were Nancy Ochs of the Agribusiness Department faculty; Carolyn Jones, Career Services; Stephan Lamb, Student Life and Activities; Allan Cooper, Architecture; Virginia Bell, Honors Programs. The Golden Key International Honour Society invites the top 15 percent of the university's juniors and seniors to join. Cal Poly's chapter is involved in community service with a special emphasis on helping the homeless, a national Golden Key project.
