Skip to Content Cal Poly News Search Cal Poly News Go California Polytechnic State University Contact: Teresa Hendrix (805) 756-7266 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Cal Poly Homecoming 2003 Date Announced SAN LUIS OBISPO - The Cal Poly Alumni Association and Intercollegiate Athletics have announced the dates and theme for the university's 2003 Homecoming celebration. "Homecoming 2003: The Spirit of Cal Poly" will be held Oct. 27-Nov. 2 and will feature a variety of events for students, parents, alumni and friends of the university. Homecoming Week begins Oct. 27 on campus with the kick-off of student-oriented activities and spirit-boosting competitions. Student events will culminate with the crowning of the Homecoming king and queen at half-time during the Homecoming football game Nov. 1 against Southern Utah State. The university will again host its traditional Homecoming parade in downtown San Luis Obispo the morning of Nov. 1, followed by the annual tailgate barbecue and Alumni Association wine tasting on the Orfalea College of Business Lawn, all leading up to the big afternoon football game. Nov. 1 is also Parents' Day at Cal Poly, with activities for parents of current students. Cal Poly Alumni Relations will be hosting the 50-year reunion for the class of 1953 Friday, Oct. 31- Sunday, Nov. 2, as well as the annual Honored Alumni Awards Banquet Oct. 31.
