Skip to Content Cal Poly News Search Cal Poly News Go California Polytechnic State University Contact: Leslie McKinley (805) 756-2219 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Cal Poly Accounting Students Offer Free Tax Prep Help SAN LUIS OPISPO - That taxing time of year is here again, and the accounting seniors of Cal Poly's Orfalea College of Business want to help relieve your stress. The college is offering free (really!) income tax return preparation and assistance for low-income taxpayers on Saturdays through March 15. Those wanting tax help can find it from noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays on the third-floor computer lab in the Business Building off California Boulevard just west of Mustang Stadium. No appointments are necessary, but taxpayers are asked to arrive no later than 3 p.m. Participants must bring their 2001 tax returns and all 2002 tax-related documents. Parking is free. Prepared by trained and qualified Cal Poly accounting seniors, all tax returns are also reviewed by local certified tax preparers who volunteer their time working with the students. The program is sponsored by the IRS, California Franchise Tax Board, and the Orfalea College of Business Accounting Department. For more information, call the college at 756-2667.
