Go!" Live Feb. 15 SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Dogs of all shapes, sizes, and colors will fill the Clark Center in a live stage version of P.D. Eastman's beloved book, "Go, Dog. Go!" Cal Poly Arts presents the Omaha Theater Company for Young People's theatrical production of "Go, Dog. Go!" on Saturday, February 15, at 3 p.m. at the Clark Center in Arroyo Grande. In a series of circus-style vignettes, audiences of all ages are invited to journey along with the dogs as they travel by boat, car, scooter, and unicycle to get to "the best dog party ever." These dogs even ski, roller skate, and ride a Ferris wheel right on stage. The "Go, Dog. Go!" book has been a family classic for 40 years. Faithfully adapted by the Omaha Theater's Executive Director, Roberta Wilhelm, the stage production of "Go, Dog. Go!" uses single-syllable words in rhythmic repetition and introduces colors and prepositions to beginning readers. The Omaha Theater Company's Artistic Director James Larson says, "The book is about compact imagery. It's about forms and feelings and intuition. And (our) production of 'Go, Dog. Go!' is a performance piece for kids." "Go, Dog. Go!" is directed by Everett Quinton, Artistic Director of the Ridiculous Theatrical Company in New York City. This is his fourth collaboration with The Omaha Theater Company, previously directing the Theater's production of "Treasure Island," "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," "Hanky & Girlo," and "Julie of the Wolves." The latest Cal Poly Arts Family Series offering is also presented in conjunction with the Clark Center Association. Limited seating is still available. Tickets for the performance are $15, with student discounts available, and may be purchased at the Performing Arts Ticket Office, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. To order by phone, call 805/756-2787; to order by fax: 805/756-6088. This performance is sponsored by the Inn at Morro Bay.
