Skip to Content Cal Poly News Search Cal Poly News Go California Polytechnic State University Jan. 21, 2003 Contact: Jo Ann Lloyd (805) 756-1511 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Opera Company To Present Master Class at Cal Poly Feb. 13 SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Members of Teatro Lirico d'Europa and its artistic and stage director Giorgio Lalov will hold an operatic vocal master class with select Cal Poly voice students from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Feb. 13 in Room 218 of the Davidson Music Center at Cal Poly. The event is open to the public. It will be an open class in which advanced voice students will be critiqued. Music Department faculty member Susan Azaret Davies will accompany on piano. Teatro Lirico d'Europa will perform Guiseppe Verdi's "Rigoletto" at 8 p.m. Feb. 13 in Harman Hall in the Christopher Cohan Center as part of the Cal Poly Arts 2002-03 season. The group is one of Europe's largest and most successful opera touring companies. Founded in 1986 in Paris, the company has given more than 2,000 performances in more than 250 venues in Europe, the United States and Japan. Tickets to the master class cost $5 for students and $15 for the public and may be purchased at the Performing Arts Ticket Office 10 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays.
