Skip to Content Cal Poly News Search Cal Poly News Go California Polytechnic State University Contact: Rachelle Kam (805) 756-1268 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Design the 2004 Cal Poly Rose Float and Win Rose Bowl Tickets SAN LUIS OBISPO - Following the university's recent first place win in the Rose Parade's prestigious "Theme" competition, the Cal Poly Rose Float Program is holding its annual contest to gather design ideas for the university's 2004 Rose Parade float. The contest is open to all, and the winning designer will receive two tickets to the 2004 Rose Bowl New Year's Day in Pasadena. The theme for the 2004 Rose Parade will be "Music." Float concepts may be submitted as a written idea or sketched design, and should include the name, phone number and e-mail address of the person entering the concept, written neatly on the back of the entry. The maximum entry size is 18 x 24 inches. Entries are due by 5 p.m. Feb. 7 and should be submitted to the Cal Poly Rose Float Program, Attn: Concept Contest, UU Epicenter, 1 Grand Ave., San Luis Obispo, CA 93407. All entries become the property of the Cal Poly Rose Float Program. In the event of multiple winners, the cash value of the Rose Bowl tickets will be split equally. More information about the Cal Poly Rose Float is available on the World Wide Web at www.asi.calpoly.edu/rosefloat. Cal Poly students have worked with students at Cal Poly Pomona annually since 1949 to produce the only Rose Parade float designed and built by students.
