Cody Papers 2 (MS0163) contains personal papers, student work, awards, architectural drawings and plans, office records, marketing and public relations materials, presentation drawings, photographs, correspondence, and project files from the architect's estate, acquired through purchase from his daughter in 2008-09. Description

Clipping with the caption: 'Distinctive architecture - Beautifully designed is the new Atikian Building on South Palm Canyon Drive. It is one of the many notable designed by William F. Cody, prominent local architect. Mr. Cody, member of the American Institute of Architects, has to his credit such handsome homes as those of Wm. Perlberg and Dorothy Levin, and among commercial buildings, new structures at Thunderbird Ranch and the Del Marcos Hotel.'

Description

Plaque reads: 'This plaque marks the site of the Mineral Spring which for centuries past has been a shrine and gathering place of the Cahuilla Indians. These Indians, fittingly named the 'Agua Caliente' Tribe, here found health and rejuvenation and curative help by drinking and bathing in the 'magic' waters which rise from unknown depths. Still owning the historic site, the Agua Caliente Tribe has entrusted to the Palm Springs Spa, Inc. the scientific control and application of its precious hot waters, containing calcium, sulphates, carbonates, and 8 other valued minerals. Through modern hydrotherapy the maximum benefits from these waters are now available to all at this most beautiful bathhouse in the world.'
