Painted Rock

This image was removed from the online archive on 08-22-2017. This decision was informed by the Northern Chumash Tribal Council position to restrict the display of images of pictographs and of the sacred site of Painted Rock itself. This restriction extends to digital and physical display. To limit the possibility of dissemination and display, photographing collection materials identified as culturally sensitive will not be permitted in the reading room, even for the purposes of reference and research.
