Conversations with Cal Poly Authors features Kathleen Cairns Dec. 5 Greetings Cal Poly faculty, staff, and friends. This month, Kennedy Library has news to share about a new faculty scholar award, faculty participation in last week’s AL$ Day, and two other fall quarter events to share with your students and colleagues. As always, we welcome your feedback, ideas, and questions, and wish you and your families a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Anna Gold Dean of Library Services Kennedy Library Join us to discuss Kathleen Cairns’ book, Hard Time at Tehachapi: California’s First Women’s Prison on Friday, December 5, 10-11:30am in 111H. AL$ Information Day: Support student savings through Open Educational Resources On November 5, we hosted the first program in Cal Poly’s Affordable Learning Solutions (AL$) initiative. Sixteen faculty members attended the two-hour compensated workshop to learn more about the discovery and use of Open Educational Resources from presenters Leslie Kennedy, director of CSU Affordable Learning Solutions, and John Lee and Rita Gonzalez of the Disability Resource Center. Kennedy Library and our partners are very excited to be able to provide faculty with these opportunities to learn more about textbook options, and we will continue to do so during the winter and spring quarters. Learn more. Feedback? Questions? We look forward to hearing from you. Please reply to: lib-exec@calpoly.edu
